Bay Pres Preschool registration now open

Children turning three or four by August 1, 2019 will be eligible for our 2019-2020 enrollment.

Tours are being offered for prospective families during and December. You will want to tour the school prior to registration.

Registration opens on January 7th for BPC members or former families. For non-members/visitors/community, registration opens January 14th.  All registrations are on-line at www.bpcpreschool.org. Side-by-Side: Walking with Others in Wisdom & Love (Sunday class)

Side by Side: Walking with Others in Wisdom and Love by Ed Welch. This class, based on book by the same title, will provide practical guidance for loving others well. God loves to use “ordinary people, ordinary conversations, and extraordinary and wise love” to accomplish His kingdom purposes! Come and learn!

Class will be taught by Rev. Alan Gay. Alan in an ordained minister in the PCA currently working remotely for Westminster Seminary in Philadelphia. Alan’s wife, Megan, grew up in this church and their young family has been active in the life of BPC since they recently relocated to the area.

Get baptized in 2019

Baptism is one of two sacraments of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church. We baptize in response to Jesus’s command in Matthew 28: 18-20. At BPC we baptize adults who are professing Christians and who have never been baptized. We also baptize infants who have at least one parent who is a professing Christian and a member of the church. Read our Infant Baptism Statement of Belief, and learn how to become a member. Upcoming baptism dates are: January 20; March 3; May 12 (Mother’s Day); June 16 (Father’s Day); September 22; November 24 (Thanksgiving); August 11 (Lake Erie Baptisms). Are you an educator thinking about faith & work?

You’re invited to join ReIntegrate for Educators. Sunday mornings, we worship as the gathered church, centered on Christ. The rest of the week, we serve as the sent church, scattered wherever God has us. If that's a school, then the upcoming class of ReIntegrate:  for Educators is for you. Wherever you teach or administrate, in a public, private, home or online school, God cares about you and your work. Learn both why and how to integrate your faith with that work, and explore these ideas with other educators. High school and college students are welcome too, since your calling is to learn.

Cost is $12 which covers the cost of the class material: ReIntegrate your vocation with God’s mission by Bob Robinson.

Class is offered February 17 – April 7 for 8 weeks on Sundays at 9:00 AM.

Respite for families with special needs

ATTEND A RESPITE EVENT:

Every quarter we provide Respite, a free event designed to be a night off for parents of children with special needs, and a night of fun for the kids! Our guests are each paired with a trained buddy for the evening who accompanies them throughout a night of fun activities. Parents and caregivers enjoy a little break knowing their children are in a safe environment and are having fun. While this is a free event, registration is required and it fills up fast! If you’d like to attend our next Respite event on Friday, February 22nd, sign up now with the ATTEND button below. Please note: each child needs a separate registration form. You will have the opportunity to put your name on a waiting list if our guest registration fills up during the January 28-31 registration period. We look forward to welcoming you at Respite at BPC! SERVE AT A RESPITE EVENT:

Hosting Respite events takes a lot of coordination and a ton of volunteers. This is a great place to volunteer a few hours on a Friday night. The Respite team is a fun loving and welcoming group and we’d love to have you join us. Plus, you’ll experience first hand the impact you’re having as you bond with your buddy throughout the night. You’re also giving parents and caretakers a break, and for some of the families we serve, these quarterly Respite nights are the only nights off they get all year. It’s no surprise that every time we open registration for Respite it fills up in a few hours, and we always have people on a waiting list. When you sign up to serve you make it possible for us to open our waiting list to more guests. We can’t do this without you! If you’re interested in serving, click the SERVE button below.

Family Communion Sunday

We all have something to learn when it comes to worship. Children learn what it means to worship by watching their parents and adults in church. Mature Christians learn to have the faith of a child when they see children respond to the Gospel. As a church that says that we value families, this is an important part of our identity. That's why we come together for our Family Communion Sundays. We foster experiences for our kids to worship with us, and in the process we learn with them. Our next Family Communion Sunday is coming up next week (February 17th), and it's a time when our Children's Ministry takes a break so that you can bring your kids with you to worship. It's a blessing to our church to bring all ages together for these special services and we want you all to join us on the 17th, no matter how old or young you are. We'll sing together, learn from each other, share Communion together, and we'll grow in our faith as a church family.
