Announcing the Pastor Search Committee (PSC) nominees
We have a Congregational Meeting this coming Sunday (December 17th) at 10:15am to approve the Pastor Search Committee for our new Senior Pastor. Bridget has attended BPC for 15 years and considers herself a “saleswoman of hope” serving in MOPS, marriage ministry and small groups. She previously worked for Cleveland Clinic’s Department of Psychiatry & Psychology as a clinical manager and therapist and has continued her own professional consulting practice while fulfilling her true calling of raising her children (Charlie, Christian and Gracie) and teaching them the power of the Holy Spirit and the love of Jesus. Bridget is married to Todd and they live in Rocky River.
Jim has attended BPC for 28 years first arriving on Christmas Eve of 1989. He served as Chairperson of the 100th Anniversary Committee and has also served as a Stephen Minister, Elder and on the Board of Directors. He firmly believes, “the best years of BPC lay clearly ahead.” Jim is President of Busch Funeral Homes and lives in Avon Lake with his wife Becky and they have 3 grown children, Hannah, Sarah and Jake.
Jesse has attended BPC for 7 years. He is involved in the Marriage Ministry and has been part of the marriage retreat planning committees for the past few years. Jesse is a sales manager who enjoys reading the Christian apologetics authors such as Tim Keller, William Lane and C.S. Lewis. He lives in Brecksville with his wife Jessica and 8-month-old son Coleman.
Paul has attended BPC for 12 years and is part of a missional community with his wife Sara and two children, Ella and Alex. When he is not teaching in Children's Ministry at BPC he is a Certified Public Accountant and has worked in corporate finance for almost 20 years. Paul is an active volunteer with a talent for fixing things and has shared this gift with many neighbors and ministries in need. He and his family live in Bay Village and attend the 11:00am service.
Marcia has attended BPC for over 35 years. She founded and directed the Promise Choir serving as the worship leader while maintaining a focus on disciple making and shepherding people the Lord placed in her path. She has also served on the Board of Directors and as an Elder. Marcia retired after 38 years with Republic Steel as their National Sales Manager and spends her time with her husband, Ed, their 4 grown children and 5 grandchildren.
Steve and his wife, Stefanie, grew up attending BPC and have been members since 8th grade confirmation. Steve and Stefanie were married at BPC 6 years ago, and have two children: Elyse (2 years old) and Nathan (born 3 months ago). Steve volunteers on the media team, running slides during worship services. After graduating from Bay High School, Steve earned his undergraduate degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University and then worked as an engineer for Swagelok Co. for 7 years. He then earned his J.D. from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University and now works as an associate attorney in the Intellectual Property group at Calfee, Halter & Griswold, LLP.
Mike has attended BPC for 7 years and is involved in Men’s Ministry and a variety of small groups and Bible studies as well as supporting his entire family’s involvement at BPC. Mike spent 35 years in the Coast Guard, retiring at the rank of Rear Admiral, and is now the CEO of the American Red Cross of Northeast Ohio. Mike is married to Cynthia and they live in Bay Village with their 2 daughters, Tiffany and Halle.
Eric has attended BPC for over 30 years. He and his wife Libby have two adult daughters, Laura and Kristen. As a member of BPC, Eric has served on the Board of Deacons, been involved in new members programs, led several stewardship campaigns, been a member of various ad hoc committees, served as a Sunday morning greeter and volunteered with the Bay Food Ministry. In addition, Eric and Libby have been members of several community groups over the years. Eric is a Managing Director & Principal of Waverly Partners, a national executive search firm. He has over 30 years of executive search consulting experience. Eric specializes in advising boards of nonprofit client organizations on their selection of CEO/Executive Director candidates. He attends the 11:00am worship service.
Margie has attended BPC for 34 years. She has been active in Women’s Ministry, Prayer Ministry, and has served as a Deacon. She is actively involved in Bible Studies, and she joined a study in 1991 that continues to meet 26 years later. Margie was an inside sales representative for 30 years where she learned she can’t out-give God. She is currently studying to become a member of the Order of St. Luke, an international healing ministry. Margie lives in Bay Village and attends the 9:00am service.
Terri has attended BPC for 6 years and is currently serving in children’s ministry, as an usher and participates regularly in Bible study. Terri has been active with Community Service Alliance and Tres Dias and has worked in the financial service industry for 30 years. She is single, lives in Westlake and loves to walk her dog, play cards and travel.
Kyle has attended BPC for 9 years. He is involved in Children’s Ministry and many of the community and event programs run by the church. Kyle is the high school Principal for the Ohio Virtual Academy, an online public high school that works mostly with academically at-risk students and students with severe medical issues. He lives in Avon Lake with his wife Maggie and 5 children, Graham, Calvin, Eliza, Josie and Violet.
Stacy has attended BPC since 1985. She came to faith through Young Life, a church-supported ministry, and she continues to work for Young Life as a freelance writer. Stacy was a founding member of MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers), and she has served as a MOPS “mentor mom” for many years. She became an Elder in 2001 and was chairman of the Personnel Committee during her tenure, heading up the Co-Pastorate Discovery Team prior to Hu Auburn’s retirement. Stacy’s husband, Jeff, and children Matt and Haley are each proud graduates of Bay Presbyterian Nursery School.
