Baptism is another moment in your baby's life that we'll help you with, contact Elizabeth Ritchie (440.871.3822 x142) to discuss steps to baptism.
Baptism is one of two sacraments of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church. We baptize in response to Jesus’s command in Matthew 28: 18-20. At BPC we baptize adults who are professing Christians and who have never been baptized. If, as an adult, you would like to be baptized, membership in the church is not a requirement, although it is strongly encouraged as a follow up to your baptism. We also baptize infants who have at least one parent who is a professing Christian and a member of the church. Read our Infant Baptism Statement of Belief, and learn how to become a member. Upcoming baptism dates are: January 20; March 3; May 12 (Mother’s Day); June 16 (Father’s Day); September 22; November 24 (Thanksgiving); August 11 (Lake Erie Baptisms). If you have questions about baptisms contact Elizabeth Ritchie (440.871.1503 x142)
We’re committed to helping you have a Christ-centered wedding AND a lifelong marriage that is centered on Christ. Much of what we require in premarital preparation is a reflection of that goal. We also require one of Bay Presbyterian Church’s pastors to officiate all weddings held at the church, if the couple wishes, the pastor may invite a member of the clergy from another church to participate in the service. For pre-marital counseling, one of our pastors will meet with the couple prior to the ceremony to discuss the meaning of Christian marriage and to plan the ceremony. Generally, these appointments will be scheduled at least four months prior to the wedding. We also assign a wedding coordinator to couples who contract to have their wedding performed at the church. For more information including wedding date availability, contact Whitney Liptrap (440.871.3822 x118), or inquire with the button below.
CARE & COUNSELING
We support God’s mission as we shepherd His people during their time of need. We do this by caring for those requesting help, and (we have a long term goal of) equipping those in community who are journeying with them. As God’s people bear one another’s burdens, they not only participate in God’s mission but also experience his love in more personal ways. As God’s people see the gospel change hearts and lives, they are equipped and emboldened to share the love of God with those around them. Two orienting Scriptures for BPC Care are Isaiah 61 and 2 Corinthians 1:3-5. We are already participating in God's kingdom, but not yet in it's fullness, while sin & suffering remain. But for that, we have hope.
Our parish nurse is here to provide a holistic approach to health and wellness, encompassing body, mind, and spirit. The parish nurse helps minimize illness through health education, and encourages congregants to become good stewards of the gift of health, as well as providing encouragement after an initial hospital stay, praying for/with someone experiencing health issues, and coordinating support groups.
