ATTEND A RESPITE EVENT:
Every quarter we provide Respite, a free event designed to be a night off for parents of children with special needs, and a night of fun for the kids! Our guests are each paired with a trained buddy for the evening who accompanies them throughout a night of fun activities. Parents and caregivers enjoy a little break knowing their children are in a safe environment and are having fun. While this is a free event, registration is required and it fills up fast! If you’d like to attend our next Respite event on Friday, May 3rd, sign up now with the ATTEND button below. Please note: each child needs a separate registration form. You will have the opportunity to put your name on a waiting list if our guest registration fills up during the April 8-11 registration period. We look forward to welcoming you at Respite at BPC! SERVE AT A RESPITE EVENT:
Hosting Respite events takes a lot of coordination and a ton of volunteers. This is a great place to volunteer a few hours on a Friday night. The Respite team is a fun loving and welcoming group and we’d love to have you join us. Plus, you’ll experience first hand the impact you’re having as you bond with your buddy throughout the night. You’re also giving parents and caretakers a break, and for some of the families we serve, these quarterly Respite nights are the only nights off they get all year. It’s no surprise that every time we open registration for Respite it fills up in a few hours, and we always have people on a waiting list. When you sign up to serve you make it possible for us to open our waiting list to more guests. We can’t do this without you! If you’re interested in serving, click the SERVE button below.
Respite - it’s fun for everyone!
Join us on Sunday, March 31st at 3:00pm for a private viewing of a new animated film based on John Bunyan’s epic masterpiece, The Pilgrim’s Progress. This story is a powerful allegory that helps families understand that the spiritual journey is the most important journey in life, as well as the importance of sticking to the path, even when the journey gets difficult. This is a free showing, but a love offering will be taken to help support and promote the film worldwide. Please note, parents are advised to determine the appropriateness of this animated film for their young children. Make your reservation here today.
Several weeks ago we brought together Chris Scruggs, Tom Madden, and Hu Auburn to talk about welcoming a new pastor. We pulled out a few clips that you might find useful as we welcome Mark Tumney for his first sermon as our new Lead Pastor on March 3rd. Take a peek:
What to Do
What Not to Do
Welcoming a Pastor’s Spouse and Kids
We all have something to learn when it comes to worship. Children learn what it means to worship by watching their parents and adults in church. Mature Christians learn to have the faith of a child when they see children respond to the Gospel. As a church that says that we value families, this is an important part of our identity. That's why we come together for our Family Communion Sundays. We foster experiences for our kids to worship with us, and in the process we learn with them. Our next Family Communion Sunday is coming up next week (February 17th), and it's a time when our Children's Ministry takes a break so that you can bring your kids with you to worship. It's a blessing to our church to bring all ages together for these special services and we want you all to join us on the 17th, no matter how old or young you are. We'll sing together, learn from each other, share Communion together, and we'll grow in our faith as a church family.
We hope you’ll join us this Sunday after each service in the Connector Hall and the Gathering Area for a reception to celebrate and honor Pastor Chris and Kathy’s time here with us. Help us make this celebration even more fun by wearing your sweater vest and/or cowboy boots to church that morning!

Pastor Chris gave a talk about leaving a legacy and ending wisely on January 24th. It was such a great talk, and so many people have been asking for slides and handouts that we’re putting them here for you to download. Get your copies today!
