As a church we host a free quarterly event that has made church more meaningful for families with special needs. It's called Respite, and it's a two and a half hour event (three hours for volunteers) that gives parents and caretakers a break from their everyday lives.
If you're a parent of a child with special needs and you want your child (and siblings) to attend the Spring Respite Event on Friday, May 4, click the attend button. Please note: each child needs their own registration form. You will have the opportunity to put your name on a waiting list if our guest registration fills up during the April 9-27 registration period. We look forward to welcoming you to Respite at BPC!
Our next event is Friday, May 4, and if you want to plug in and get involved in the
life of the church in a new way, click the button to serve.
For some parents Respite nights are the only date nights they get all year. This means so much to the families that come that we don't want you to miss your opportunity to get involved in giving someone a much needed break.
At Respite, kids spend time doing all sorts of activities and it takes volunteers to keep those activities going. That's where you come in. Whether you're a teenager or a retired adult, there is a long list of roles that you can fill ranging from specialist roles to first-time volunteers with no experience. Anybody can find a place to serve, including you.
