As a church we will respond to the hurricane disaster that is still unfolding in Texas as we come to understand where our response is most needed, but in the meantime, if your family would like to personally respond we’re recommending one of two options:
The American Red Cross is uniquely equipped to handle crises, and 91 cents of every dollar they receive is used in crisis relief. Our congregation member Mike Parks, Rear Admiral, U.S. Coast Guard (ret.) is the Regional CEO of the American Red Cross and he has said that at the moment they have enough supplies on hand for the crisis and a financial contribution would be the best way to help. You can make a donation at redcross.org/donate.
Another way to contribute financially is through the Emergency Relief Fund of the EPC (our denomination), who will distribute funds to the other EPC churches in the greater Houston area affected by the storm. You can make a donation here or make a check payable to the Evangelical Presbyterian Church designated to Hurricane Harvey Relief and send to: Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 5850 T.G. Lee Blvd., Suite 510, Orlando, FL 32822.
