Bay Presbyterian Church has a long history with Compassion International. Each year we host a "Compassion Sunday" in the Spring. This annual event is held by churches throughout the world to publicize the need for people to sponsor children who would otherwise do without the basic necessities of life: food, healthcare, education, clothing, bible study. It costs only $36 a month to provide for these needs.
This is also a great opportunity for a family. You can really get to know the child you sponsor through writing letters and sending small items through the mail. You can even send your letter via e-mail and Compassion will see that it gets to your child!
Many of our members sponsor children in Guatemala, Thailand, Peru, Ecuador and India. Our children's Sunday Power Zone class sponsors a little boy, named Daniel, who lives in Guatemala. In addition, members of our mission teams that visit Guatemala every year also sponsor children there through Compassion and have been able to personally visit with them on these mission trips.
Please consider sponsoring a child yourself. For more information or to select a child, visit www.compassion.com.
