Bay Presbyterian Church is blessed to have a diverse array of partnerships in the city. If you have wondered what these are all about, CityVentures is an initiative through BPC that provides opportunities for individuals, families, seniors, small groups and intergenerational friends to gather together and serve in the name of Christ. These are one-time service opportunities that will be held from October to May on the 3rd Saturday of each month (timeframe may vary each month so pay close attention to that!)
Come once, twice, or join the entire eight month adventure!
These adventures are meant to be just that…something you go on with an openness to expect the unexpected, to embrace the moment, and to join God in what He is already doing in Cleveland and beyond.
Whenever any of the CityVentures mentions collections, additional specific information on what items BPC will collect ahead of time can be found on the BPC website, or in the “Collections Brochure” in the connector of BPC.
Faith is an adventure, and we hope you step out to join God in what amazing things He is doing in the city!!!
*A SPECIAL NOTE TO PARENTS: If your children are 4 or 5 and older, most of these opportunities are appropriate for you as a family! It has been said that kids today see their parents serving them and have few, if any, opportunities to serve others. Remember - Serving together as a family is one of the Fantastic Four Faith Forming Functions! And- Christ calls us to serve! Save these dates and sign up as a family!

Join us for the March CityVenture Saturday, March 21, 2009 10:00 AM—12:00 Noon Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity 2110 W. 110th, Cleveland
For years, BPC has had a team known as “The Presbyterians,” who work on building homes through Greater Cleveland Habitat For Humanity. Habitat has also developed an exciting outreach through a “ReStore” that recycles household construction items for reuse in homes (these can range from light bulbs to light switches to light fixtures to kitchen cupboards and beyond). Prior to this day we will conducting a “Tool Drive” to bless Habitat with tools for use on the various worksites, and that day will be taking the tools to Habitat and helping in the ReStore. Habitat and the ReStore have recently moved to the west side of Cleveland so this will be a great opportunity to check out their new home! This is an ideal “father-son” or “grandpa-grandson” type of offering, but all are welcome!

Join us for the April CityVenture Saturday, April 18, 2009 10:00 AM-12:00 Noon Deacon’s Project Undercover in BPC E200 Rooms
Oftentimes in Cleveland the homeless wear the same clothes day in and day out, and literally take what they own on their backs; so pretty regularly they long for new underwear or socks, or small sample size personal hygiene items so they can freshen up. Prior to this day we will be collecting underwear, t-shirts, socks, and travel size personal hygiene items to “bag” in packages that can be distributed to the homeless ministries BPC supports. Project Undercover is sponsored by the Deacons of BPC as ongoing ministry to the homeless and oftentimes our teams will grab these items as they go to share Christ with the homeless.
