A Promise Partner Church Bethany Presbyterian Church, a multi-cultural, multi-racial, multi-lingual community of faith serving God and one another in Christian love, is located at the corner of W. 65th Street and West Clinton in Cleveland. Genesis Team 5 joins Bethany in worship monthly at the Church's Sunday morning 10:45 AM Service, which is bi-lingual, with both English and Spanish spoken and sung. Video technology incorporating a projection screen provides the transition between both languages for total understanding by all. Bethany provides a Christian Education class for adults and has a Children's Church,which includes Bible lessons, singing, arts and crafts and fellowship. Bilingual teams of teachers facilitate Christian Ed classes and all materials are in English and Spanish. Bethany participates with five other Presbyterian Churces in Cleveland and Lakewood in joint worship services, pulpit exchanges, an annual cluster picnic and support to each other's ministries. Bethany has a Parish nurse to provide compassionate medical aid and assist the Pastors with spiritual nurture. In addition,Bethany provides Community Meals on the 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th Fridays of each month at 5:45PM. Nutritious hot meals are served with support for this community ministry coming from gifts and participation of Bethany's partner churches. After 30 plus years of ministry through a neighborhood pre-school, Bethany now offers Head Start and extended childcare through West Side Ecumenical Ministry. Bethany, with many in the congregation having immigrated from Central America, also provides assistance on relocation and other issues confronting those new to our country. Fellowship is encouraged through coffee hours, a monthly luncheon,and other activities. Members of the church also build friendships as they work in community service. Every member of Bethany is encouraged to become a member of a mission group to work on projects which enhance the church's ministry and mission of Worship and Music, Community Ministry, Evangelism and Hospitality, and Fellowship and Visitation.
