Sunday Morning Hour Two Options For Adults

H2O is a catchy symbol and acronym for our Sunday morning adult classes.  H2O is also the very well-known symbol for water.  When you think about it, water is a great visual when it comes to thinking about our need to continue to learn and grow in our understanding of what it means to follow Jesus.

Water is an essential element for the human body.  Without water a person dies.  The same is true for the Living Water that Jesus provides.  In the story of Jesus talking with the Samaritan woman at the well, Jesus tells her that “whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty forever.”  Think about it…have you ever been in a situation when you’ve been really thirsty…your mouth so dry and parched that you could hardly wait to grab a glass of water?  The same is very true for our souls.  Our souls long to be touched in such a way that the dry parched feeling can be relieved.  Only One can do that.  Only Jesus gives Living Water.

Following Jesus is a life-long process.  Learning to walk in the ways of Jesus takes a life-time of learning.  Our Sunday mornings are designed so adults can participate in worship together and then in a second hour find an opportunity to be further equipped to live into the practices of Loving Jesus, Sharing Life, Walking Across and Inviting Others.

We provide a number of options to choose from to receive Living Water – to nourish your soul and to relieve your thirst.  Jesus said “the water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”  Imagine…a spring of water welling up in you…come, connect with a second hour option and let Jesus quench your thirst.

Core Curriculum H2O

Study of Genesis

Led by Tom Madden and Jim Scott, Room W211

“In the beginning God…”  And so begins the greatest book ever written!  Join Pastor Tom Madden and Jim Scott in a year-long, verse-by-verse, study of the first book of the Bible.  In studying Genesis you will grow in your understanding of God’s design for all of life as you dig into the Creation story.  Dig deeper into the unraveling of God’s good design for life as we study the Fall in Genesis chapter three and learn to recognize the significance of Man’s rejection and rebellion against God and it’s continued pervasiveness throughout life today.  And just as you come face to face with the long-reaching effects of sin in our world, embrace the promise of Redemption and     Restoration that God immediately provides right in the midst of Man’s rebellion and watch throughout the rest of Genesis as God unfolds His incredible plan of Grace – redeeming and restoring all of life to Himself!
