Relational Healing > Support Groups > Grief to Joy

fter the funeral, when family and friends have gone home, when the cards and telephone calls stop coming, when everyone else has resumed a normal life, grieving individuals, Christian and non-Christian alike, often find themselves alone, confused and consumed with sorrow.

We tend to de-emphasize the emotional part of being human. Grief to Joy is a program that works, because it affirms the grieving emotions.  Negative emotions like anger, guilt, bitterness and lack of forgiveness are not ignored.  They are presented as part of the normal grieving process.

Grief to Joy is a special weekly gathering and support group for people grieving the death of someone close to them. It’s a place to be around people who understand what you are feeling.

At Grief to Joy, you’ll learn valuable information about recovering from your grief and renewing your hope for the future.

He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted ... To comfort all who mourn ... To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;

Isaiah 61:1-3 (NKJV)

Participants in Grief to Joy are given the tools to deal with the grieving process. A sense of hope, resolution of anger, and the opportunity to discuss and interact with others experiencing the grieving process; these are all usable tools. This interaction supports healing, within a Christian framework.

Grief to Joy meets on Tuesdays beginning September 9, 2008 from 7:00-8:30 pm in Room E206
