Bay Food Ministry
Monthly ministry at BPC that provides food for families in Bay Village and members of the church. Ways to connect:  Contact:
Bethany Meals Outreach
On the last Friday of each month, BPC members prepare a community meal at Bethany Presbyterian Church in Cleveland’s Detroit-Shoreway neighborhood. Ways to connect: Help prepare a meal the last Friday of each month. Contact:

Boy Scout Chaplaincy
Our funding provides the chaplain for camps, keeping Christ at the heart of scouting. Ways to connect: Pray for the chaplain to effectively reach this generation for Chirst. Contact:

BPC Preschool
Funding provides scholarships for students. The Preschool reaches approximately 140 families, many of whom do not have a church home. Ways to connect: Pray the seeds of God's Word planted in the hearts of these children and their families bear a great harvest. Contact:
 
Building Hope in the City
The focus is on restoring the city to God by developing and linking people, communities and churches.  BPC members are involved with tutoring, mentoring refugees and more. Ways to connect: Help plan and/or attend the annual advent tea, mentor refugees, tutor, participate in CityServe, etc. Contact:

Cornerstone Among Women
A regional help center that gives Christian compassion to women facing unplanned pregnancies and fertility issues. Ways to connect: Volunteer in the office or thrift store or participate in the annual Walk for Life (usually in October). Contact:

Community Service Alliance (CSA)
Empowering homeless men with transitional housing and helping them move towards stable, independent living. The ministry's second location will be in the convent at the Family Ministry Center at Blessed Sacrament. Ways to connect: Develop long term caring and compassionate relationships with the men who live at Procop house. Second location coming to the Family Ministry Center at Blessed Sacrament. Contact:

cru/Campus Crusade for Christ
The following are the names and places of people serving God in this Campus-based ministry focused on leading people to Christ.

1. cru - Darin & Tina Bufkin – Indiana
The Bufkins have come back stateside where Darin is now working in the Cru office in Indianapolis. Darin is now the International Summer Projects Coordinator for Indiana, Ohio, Michigan and Illinois. He oversees 220-300 staff members and students on 11 mission projects on more than four continents. Ways to connect: Provide prayer support and encouragement through e-mail or by phone. Contact:
 
2. cru - Jenny and Brian MetzerCleveland Metro Team (new location this year)
The Metzers have recently moved in response to God’s call to Cleveland from Ohio State. Brian is now the director of the Cleveland Metro team which currently includes ministries on the campuses of Kent State and Case Western; and possibly to plant ministries at other local universities. 3. cru - Scott and Emily Sommer - Kent State University

4. cru - Carl and Sarah Schweisthal – Ohio State University/Athletes in Action
Carl is the director of the Athletic Ministry working with OSU athletes to impact the campus for Christ.  Sarah works with female athletes, hosting a Bible study and learning to balance the full-time job of motherhood with the ministry of discipling women. 5. cru - David & Terea Williams – Orlando, FL

Family Ministry Center at Blessed Sacrament
An outgrowth of BPC, this center will house church plants, a second location of Community Service Alliance, The Bridge Avenue School, GRIP in-school Suspension Program and other relational ministries, buiding relationships throughout the neighborhood. Family Promise of Greater Cleveland
(formerly Interfaith Hospitality Network and New Life Community)
Interfaith Hospitality Network and New Life Community have merged to inspire and empower homeless families to transform their lives, become self-sufficient and fulfill their promise. Ways to connect: BPC hosts several times a year for a full week. Individuals, small groups, and families can help by providing food, fellowship and overnight hosting. Contact:

Golden Treasures Nursing Care Ministry
Volunteers build relationships with those in nursing care facilities through visitation, worship and Bible studies. Ways to connect: Join this team in a local nursing home or assisted living facility. Contact:

God Cares Ministry
Nursing home visitation program focused on equipping Christians to help meet the spiritual needs of people in long-term care facilities. Ways to connect: Attend God Cares training opportunities. Volunteer through Golden Treasures Nursing Care Facility. Contact:  

Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity
Part of Habitat for Humanity International, Cleveland’s local chapter builds affordable, quality homes that strengthen neighborhoods and restore communities. Ways to connect: Contact:

InterVarsity Christian Fellowship

1. InterVarsity - Bok and Heidi Chew – Cleveland State Univ. (new location for them this year)
The vision of the Chews is to see the CSU campus renewed, students lives changed and world changers developed. Their focus will be on internatioanl and graduate students. Ways to connect: Offer hospitality to an international student by sharing a meal or hosting them in your home over a break. Contact:



3. InterVarsity - Marc Papai – Ohio Valley Regional Director
Providing spiritual direction, leadership & management throughout the Intervarsity region, consisting of campus ministries in several states. Ways to connect: Provide prayer support. Contact:

Key Ministry
Key Ministry’s mission is to equip churches to welcome and include children and families affected by hidden disabilities or special needs in all aspects of the life of the church. Ways to connect: Volunteer at a Respite Event or become a buddy for a child with special needs on Sunday mornings. Contact:

Ligonier Camp, Pennsylvania

This year-round camp and conference center in Ligonier, Pennsylvania offers summer camp for kids 8-14. Many BPC kids and their friends receive Bible-based teaching and experiences at critical impressionable ages at Ligonier. Ways to connect: Contact:

North Coast Health Ministry
A faith-based free clinic providing primary and specialty care including prescription assistance for low-income, uninsured individuals in western Greater Cleveland. Ways to connect: Volunteers interested in a long term placement are sought out to help with day-to-day ministry. Contact:
Scranton Road Ministries /Youth Jobs Partnership (YJP)
YJP is a Biblically-based workforce development program that provides Cleveland’s young adults aged 16-22 with comprehensive job training.  YJP has an 86% placement rate. Ways to connect: Serve as a mentor to a youth or provide job shadowing or intern opportunities. Contact:  

St. Malachi Breakfast Outreach
BPC members prepare a hot breakfast each week serving 100-200 homeless/hardship individuals and families while giving Christian witness. Ways to connect: Serve with a team Saturdays, 7:30 am - 10:30 am. Make donations of paper plates, cups, and plasticware as well as socks, gloves, toiletries and coats in the BPC main entrance across from the elevator. Contact:

Seminarian -
Relocated in 2010 to North Carolina with his family to attend Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte.

The Bridge Avenue School - Dan and Amy McElwain
Founded by BPC members, this small private Christian school helps previously unsuccessful middle school students achieve academically in a Christ-centered environment. Ways to connect: Caring tutors, literacy volunteers, administrative help, and lunch providers are always needed. Contact:

The City Mission
One of Cleveland’s most recognized ministries, The City Mission offers a wide range of Christ-centered services for children, men, women and families coping with the realities of poverty and/or housing transitions. Ways to connect: Extensive opportunities with children, men, women, and families in transition beginning with a comprehensive and insightful orientation. Contact:

The Isaiah Project (TIP) - Dana Carpenter
Founded by a BPC member,  (TIP) is “getting the church back into the neighborhood and the neighborhood back into the church.”  TIP meets with kids and families in the inner city to disciple them and to empower them to be leaders who transform their neighborhoods. Ways to connect: Serve as a Kids Church or Youth Church leader at one of the sites where TIP is engaged in ministry in NE Ohio. Contact:
Westshore Senior Center (The Knickerbocker)
Fellowship, visitation, and prayer opportunities abound to demonstrate Christ’s love to those in this Bay Village apartment community that meets the needs of older adults. Ways to connect: Join the Deacons as they prepare for an anual afternoon of fun and fellowship for the residents. Contact:

Westside Ecumenical Ministry
This ministry serves west side residents who need assistance with food, clothing, job training, counseling and more. Ways to connect: Prepare and serve community meals, stock shelves for food pantry or volunteer at their thrift store. Contact:

Young Life
Young Life - Andy Reid- Cleveland Westshore
Introducing adolescents to Jesus Christ and helping them to grow in faith. Now in its 41st year, Young Life has given thousands of kids a safe place to build friendships and begin a relationship with Jesus Christ through weekly gatherings, summer camp, Bible study and events. Ways to connect: Committed Christian adults can model the love of Christ to teenage youth Bay Village and Lakewood by serving on the Young Life Committee. Contact:  

Young Life - Mike Vonderau- Lorain County, member of BPC/Seminarian
Introducing adolescents to Jesus Christ and helping them to grow in faith. Discipleship, camp opportunities, and large group Bible study are used to engage high school aged students. Mike is a member of BPC. Ways to connect: Committed Christian adults can model the love of Christ to teenage youth in Avon Lake, Sheffield and Avon by serving on the Young Life Committee. Contact:

Youth for Christ
This team of adults works to mentor and disciple inner city youth with an unwavering commitment to evangelism and Biblical Christianity. Ways to connect: Tutoring or mentoring, assisting with in-house suspension program for Lincoln West High School. Contact:

Ambassadors in Sport - Aaron Tredway, South Africa
Soccer is the medium through which a message of hope and salvation is preached around the world.  Aaron and his coworkers have the vision to “see communities and nations in Africa and the world transformed through a new generation of Christian leaders”. Ways to connect: Contact:
BUSES retrofits trailers, buses, and RV’s into mobile, medical, dental, and ultrasound clinics to be taken nationally and internationally into 10 different countries (so far) as a witness to Christ. Ways to connect: Contact:
Care for AIDS - Kenya   
Care for AIDS partners with local Kenyan churches to operate life transforming centers that serve the physical, spiritual, economic and social needs of men and women living with HIV/AIDS. Ways to connect: Contact:

Chosen People Ministries

Christian Leaders for Africa, African International University -
Nairobi, Kenya
This Christian seminary and university trains indigenous leaders from all over Africa.  Upon graduation, leaders return to all parts of Africa to share the gospel of Christ. Ways to connect: Pray for the seminarians from throughout Africa to effectively reach their communities with the Gospel. Contact:

Commission to Every Nation - Vivian Douglas, Guatemala   
Vivian works with children at Casa Bernabe, an orphanage in Guatemala; teaching, discipling, and preparing children for ministry outreach through a music program. Ways to connect: Contact:

Community of Faith International, Northern Sudan
A young woman who grew up at BPC now raches out to muslim women to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ to raise up disciples for Christ who will then share the Gospel with others. Ways to connect: Contact advocate to receive prayer request e-mails. Contact:

Blair and Jane Cook - International School Project

El Buen Samaritano, Mercedes Castro Sapon de Lorenzo
Mercedes has made it her mission to provide elementary level education for the children of church members who can’t afford public education. Ways to connect:Provide prayer support. Contact:

Grace Fellowship Africa, Nigeria
Evangelizing Muslims in the Biu region of Nigeria through a medical clinic and ongoing discipleship.  The region is very dangerous. Ways to connect: Join stateside support team or undergird this evangelical medical ministry with prayer. Contact:

Living Waters for the World

Liz Fleming, Haiti

New Hope International - Colorado
Operational offices raise up and release indigenous leaders to reach this generation with the Gospel in Eastern Europe. Ways to connect:Contact:

New Hope International - Csilla Lesko, Hungary
Csilla translates Christian books into her native language and then attends book fairs and conferences with pastors to get these materials in the hands of congregations throughout Hungary.  She is also involved in training pre-marital counselors. New Hope International - Rei Abrudan, Romania
Seeks to reach this generation with the Gospel. Rei is seeing a good number of his youth working in outreach of the church and entering Christ-centered adults lives, marriage, family, etc. Ways to connect: Vision Tour opportunities to Eastern Europe. Contact:

South American Mission - Mike & Nancy Mahon, Peru
The Mahons are a powerful and continual witness to Christ as they provide vital air transportation and support to missionaries in remote regions of Peru. Tabo Church - Tim Schlatter, Papua New Guinea
This mission supports the Tabo leadership with pastor training and literacy.  The New Testament translation in their native tongue continues to be used in deeper ways. Ways to connect: Pray for the continuing New Testament translation work for the Tabo people. Contact:

The McGilvary College of Divinity at Payap University
This seminary prepares indigenous ministers for the Church of Christ in Thailand and throughout Southeast Asia who upon graduation disperse into Thailand and spread the Gospel. Uganda Orphan Fund, Duncan Hill
Nearly 230 orphans are cared for in multiple homes throughout Kasozi Village.  This fund provides housing, Christian education, love and security to orphans who live in a country where there was a 20 year civil war and AIDS is claiming many parents’ lives. Ways to connect: Contact:

Witnessing Ministries of Christ - India
Jesus is the source of freedom for the Dalit people giving them a new identity in Christ. In 26 years, witnessing ministries has opened 20 education centers in northern India. World Neighbors 
This organization helps provide lasting solutions for people suffering from hunger, poverty, and disease around the world through education and training, transforming communities so they can become self-sufficient.
