Bay Presbyterian Church Summary Proposal on Dismissal             

To The New Wineskins Presbytery of The Evangelical Presbyterian Church

Dismissal of Bay Presbyterian Church

  • Bay Presbyterian Church will be dismissed to the New Wineskins Presbytery of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church no later than June 1, 2008.

Pastors

  • Four Pastors, Hubert Auburn, Thomas Madden, Carol Rettew, and Daniel Edgerly, will be dismissed to the New Wineskins Presbytery of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church along with Bay Presbyterian Church.
  • At the March meeting of the Presbytery of the Western Reserve and simultaneously with this proposal a Separation Agreement will be submitted with respect to Pastor Robert Armstrong.

Mission Payments

  • A total of $550,000 payable by BPC to PWR in installments with $100,000 being due within two months of date of dismissal and subsequent annual installments of $90,000; $80,000; $70,000; $60,000; $50,000; $40,000; $30,000; $20,000; and $10,000 being due on the successive anniversary dates of the first installment.
  • These amounts begin with approximately what BPC has paid to PWR in past years (mission and per capita) with a gradual phase down over ten years.
  • Payments to be secured by a letter of credit.
  • This amount satisfies in full all financial or other claims by PWR against BPC, including, without limitation, management, control, mission, per capita, personal property, real property or other claims.

Real Property 

  • Quit claim deed from PWR to BPC.
  • No deed restrictions.

Church Name 

  • BPC retains its name.

Other

  • The terms of this proposal will be set forth in a definitive agreement with dismissal no later than June 1, 2008.
