Dear BPC Members and Friends,
This packet provides an update on the latest developments concerning our request for dismissal from the PC(USA) to the New Wineskins Presbytery of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
As you know, the Presbytery of the Western Reserve will be voting on our motion for dismissal at its meeting May 28. At its March 31 meeting the Presbytery invited attendees to submit questions for consideration and response by both BPC and the Presbytery. Those questions and perhaps others will be discussed at a conversational meeting on April 30 at Highland Sixth Presbyterian Church. We have included in this packet a letter we will share at the meeting and answers to those questions we feel were directed to us. We pray this meeting will help Presbytery members gain a better idea of our request for dismissal.
We also extend an invitation to you to attend a special Prayer and Information meeting on Sunday, May 18 at 7 p.m. in the BPC sanctuary. That evening, we will take the opportunity to provide updates on the dismissal process, including a preview of what we share at the May 28 Presbytery meeting along with an update on senior pastor search.
Most importantly, we will spend time together in prayer for the May 28 Presbytery meeting and the entire dismissal process. Please plan to attend.
If you have questions or comments on the dismissal process, please write them on the "Glad You Are Here" slips provided at each worship service. In closing, we ask you to continue to bathe this entire process in prayer as we seek to do the will of our Lord.
In Christ,
The Session of Bay Presbyterian Church
